3 Day Saigon Dalat Easy Ride – Vietnam Motorbike Tour
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Saigon – Nui Dat – Long Tan – La Gi
Approx. 160 km | 4–6 hours riding
Your Saigon to Dalat Motorbike Tour begins in the morning as we leave Ho Chi Minh City and head southeast into the countryside.
The busy streets and growing suburbs of Saigon gradually disappear as we ride through quieter rural areas. Rice fields, rubber plantations, small farms and local villages begin to replace the urban landscape, giving you an early taste of southern Vietnam beyond the main tourist routes.
Our first major stop is the Nui Dat and Long Tan area, an important historical region associated with Australian and New Zealand military operations during the Vietnam War.
Travelling by motorcycle gives you the opportunity to experience the landscape at a slower pace while your guide explains the historical background of the area. Depending on the agreed itinerary and local conditions, we can visit key locations associated with the former 1st Australian Task Force base at Nui Dat and the Long Tan battlefield.
The surrounding countryside is peaceful today, making it difficult to imagine the military activity that once took place here. Your guide will help put the landscape into context and explain the significance of the area during the war.
After the historical section of the day, we continue southeast toward the coast.
The road passes through agricultural communities and quiet countryside before reaching the coastal region. The atmosphere changes again as fishing boats, seafood stalls and coastal villages become part of the scenery.
We travel through the countryside around Ho Tram and Ho Coc, where stretches of sandy coastline and casuarina forests provide a pleasant contrast to the inland landscapes.
There will be time for a break along the coast, perhaps with a Vietnamese coffee, coconut or fresh local seafood, depending on the day’s schedule.
Continuing south, the route eventually leads toward La Gi, a relaxed coastal town in Binh Thuan Province.
La Gi is considerably quieter than Vietnam’s major beach resorts and offers a more authentic look at everyday coastal life. Fishing remains an important part of the local economy, while the surrounding countryside combines farms, villages and beaches.
We arrive in La Gi in the late afternoon and check into our hotel.
The evening is free to relax, enjoy the sea breeze and explore the local area before dinner.
The first day of this 3 Day Saigon Dalat Easy Ride brings together history, countryside riding and coastal culture, creating a varied start to the journey.
Overnight: La Gi
Day 2: La Gi – Bao Loc
Approx. 140 km | 4–6 hours riding
After breakfast, we leave La Gi and turn inland toward the Central Highlands.
Today’s ride is marked by a gradual change in both scenery and climate. The warm coastal environment slowly gives way to rolling hills, green plantations and cooler mountain air as we gain elevation.
The route passes through rural communities where agriculture remains an important part of everyday life.
Along the way, we may stop to meet local people and learn more about the ethnic communities living in the region. The Central Highlands are home to many different ethnic groups, each with their own traditions, crafts and cultural identity.
Depending on the route and local conditions, you may see traditional houses, weaving and other forms of local craftsmanship while learning about life in the highlands.
As we travel deeper into Lam Dong Province, tea and coffee plantations become increasingly common.
The Bao Loc region is one of Vietnam’s important tea-growing areas, and the surrounding hills provide ideal conditions for both tea and coffee cultivation.
We stop at a local plantation to see how tea is grown and harvested. Walking between the rows of tea bushes gives you a closer understanding of the agricultural landscape that surrounds the town.
Coffee is another important part of the Central Highlands experience.
At a local coffee farm, you can learn about how coffee is cultivated, harvested and processed before enjoying a freshly brewed cup of Vietnamese coffee. These small farm visits offer a more personal experience than simply stopping at a tourist café.
Nature is another highlight of today’s route.
We visit Pongour Waterfall, one of the most impressive waterfalls in Lam Dong Province. Surrounded by forest and dramatic rock formations, it is an excellent place to walk, take photographs and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
We then continue toward Dambri Waterfall, a spectacular cascade near Bao Loc. The waterfall drops through dense greenery and provides one of the day’s most memorable natural landscapes.
After exploring the waterfall area, we continue through the hills toward Bao Loc.
The town is known for its tea plantations, pleasant climate and surrounding mountain scenery. Compared with Da Lat, Bao Loc receives fewer international visitors, making it a rewarding stop for travellers looking to experience a quieter side of the Central Highlands.
We arrive in Bao Loc in the late afternoon and check into our accommodation.
After dinner, take some time to relax and enjoy the cooler highland atmosphere.
Today’s journey is a major transition in the Saigon to Dalat Easy Rider Tour, taking you from the coast into the agricultural and mountainous heart of southern Vietnam.
Overnight: Bao Loc
Day 3: Bao Loc – Da Lat
Approx. 120 km | 4–5 hours riding
The final day of your 3 Day Saigon Dalat Easy Ride takes you deeper into the Central Highlands before finishing in Da Lat.
After breakfast, we leave Bao Loc and follow scenic mountain roads through tea plantations, coffee farms and forested countryside.
The road becomes increasingly peaceful as we move away from the town. Green hills and valleys stretch into the distance, while small farms and villages appear along the route.
This section is ideal for travellers who enjoy taking photographs and experiencing Vietnam at a relaxed pace. We make stops along the way to appreciate the scenery and learn more about the agricultural life of the highlands.
Tea remains an important part of the landscape around Bao Loc. If conditions allow, we stop at another plantation to see the harvesting process and learn how locally grown tea is prepared.
We also pass through coffee-growing areas, where the rich volcanic soil and highland climate provide ideal conditions for cultivation.
As the road climbs higher, the scenery begins to change again.
Pine forests become more common, the air becomes cooler and the landscape takes on the distinctive character of the Da Lat highlands.
Small vegetable farms and flower gardens begin to appear as we approach the city. Da Lat’s cool climate has made the surrounding region one of Vietnam’s most important centres for flowers, vegetables and other highland crops.
The final approach provides an enjoyable combination of mountain roads and open countryside.
By early or mid-afternoon, we reach Da Lat, Vietnam’s famous “City of Eternal Spring.”
Set among pine-covered hills, Da Lat is known for its cool climate, flower gardens, French colonial architecture, cafés and relaxed atmosphere.
After arriving in the city, you can check into your hotel and enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your own pace.
Depending on your interests and available time, you may visit Da Lat Market, sample local specialties, explore the city’s historic streets or simply relax with a Vietnamese coffee overlooking the hills.
After three days of riding through rural landscapes, historic sites, coastal communities, plantations, waterfalls and mountain roads, your Saigon to Dalat Motorbike Tour comes to an end.
End of Tour: Da Lat
From here, you can continue your Vietnam journey to destinations such as Nha Trang, Mui Ne, Hoi An or Ho Chi Minh City, or stay in Da Lat for a few more days to explore the Central Highlands.
