1 Day Cu Chi Easy Ride – VIETNAMRIDER
Tour Itinerary
Saigon – Cu Chi Tunnels – Saigon
Distance: Approximately 140 km round trip
Start: 8:00 AM – Saigon
Finish: Around 4:00–4:30 PM – Saigon
We pick you up from your hotel in Saigon at around 8:00 AM and begin the journey towards Cu Chi. After a short safety briefing and motorcycle check, we leave the busy city streets behind and follow quieter countryside roads.
The morning route takes us through rural communities, small farms and rubber plantations. Your English-speaking guide will introduce the history of the Vietnam War and explain why Cu Chi became such an important strategic area during the war. The changing scenery also gives you a look at everyday life outside central Saigon.
We can make a short stop at a traditional roadside café for Vietnamese drip coffee or fresh sugarcane juice. It is a chance to stretch your legs, use the restroom and see a little of local countryside life before continuing towards Cu Chi.
Around 10:00 AM, we arrive at the Cu Chi Tunnels – Ben Dinh Sector. Here you will learn how the tunnel system was constructed, expanded and used during the war. The network included underground living areas, kitchens, meeting rooms, medical stations and other facilities.
You will have the opportunity to enter sections of the tunnels and experience the narrow underground spaces. Some sections are low and confined, so entering the tunnels is optional and can be adjusted according to your comfort.
After exploring the tunnels, we visit the wartime trap displays. Your guide will explain how simple materials such as bamboo, spikes and wooden structures were used to create defensive traps. You will also learn how camouflage and knowledge of the surrounding jungle helped soldiers remain hidden.
The visit gives you a better understanding of what life was like underground. You can see how people cooked, worked, slept and moved through the tunnel system under extremely difficult conditions.
Around 12:15 PM, we stop for a traditional Vietnamese lunch. The meal includes local Vietnamese dishes, with boiled cassava and sesame salt also available as a simple example of food associated with life in the tunnels during the war.
Vegetarian and vegan meals can be arranged with advance notice.
After lunch, guests who are interested can visit the optional shooting range. Historic weapons such as the AK-47, M16 and M1 Garand may be available under supervision. This activity is not included in the standard tour price, and ammunition fees are paid separately on site.
Around 1:30 PM, we leave Cu Chi and begin the return journey to Saigon. Rather than simply following the same road back, we use another countryside route where possible, giving you more views of villages, farmland, rubber plantations and local life.
The afternoon ride is more relaxed as we gradually make our way back towards Saigon. There is time for a short rest stop before continuing into the city.
We arrive back in Saigon at approximately 4:00–4:30 PM and drop you off at your hotel or another agreed location.
End of the 1 Day Cu Chi Easy Ride in Saigon.
