3 Day Saigon Dak Lak Easy Ride – Vietnam Motorbike Tour

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Saigon – Da Huoai – Dambri – Bao Loc | Approx. 180 km

Your 3 Day Saigon to Dak Lak Easy Ride begins in the morning as we leave the busy streets of Saigon and head toward the Central Highlands.

The city gradually gives way to a more peaceful rural landscape of rice fields, fruit farms, small canals and local villages. This change of scenery happens quickly, offering an immediate introduction to the countryside beyond southern Vietnam’s major urban centres.

Our route takes us toward Da Huoai District in Lam Dong Province, an important gateway to the Central Highlands. Rather than staying on the main highways for the entire journey, we use quieter roads where conditions allow, giving you more opportunities to see local life and enjoy the scenery.

Along the way, we stop at a rubber plantation to learn about one of southern Vietnam’s important agricultural industries. Depending on the season, you may see workers collecting latex from the trees and learn how rubber is harvested before being processed.

We then continue through rural communities and fruit-growing areas. Small farms and roadside markets provide an opportunity to see the region’s agricultural lifestyle and, when available, taste some of the tropical fruit grown locally.

Around midday, we reach Dambri Waterfall, one of the most impressive natural attractions in Lam Dong Province. The waterfall drops dramatically through a lush forest setting, surrounded by dense vegetation and mountain scenery.

After exploring Dambri and enjoying time for photographs, we continue climbing toward Bao Loc.

The landscape changes noticeably as we gain elevation. Tropical lowland vegetation gives way to cooler mountain scenery, tea plantations, coffee farms and forested hills.

Bao Loc is particularly well known for tea and silk production, both of which have played an important role in the local economy. We visit a family-run silk workshop to see how traditional Vietnamese silk is produced and learn about the process from silkworm to finished fabric.

This cultural stop offers a glimpse into a traditional craft that has survived alongside the rapid development of modern Vietnam.

By late afternoon, we arrive in Bao Loc and check into our accommodation.

The evening is free to relax and enjoy a local dinner. Surrounded by the hills and gardens of the Central Highlands, Bao Loc provides a peaceful first night away from the noise of Saigon.

Overnight: Bao Loc
Distance: Approximately 180 km
Riding time: Around 4–6 hours, including stops and sightseeing

Day 2: Bao Loc – Central Highlands – Lak Lake | Approx. 160 km

After breakfast, we leave Bao Loc and continue north into the heart of Vietnam’s Central Highlands.

Today is one of the most scenic and culturally interesting sections of the Saigon to Dak Lak motorcycle tour.

The route winds through tea and coffee-growing areas, forested hills and remote rural communities. As we travel farther from the major cities, the roads become quieter and the scenery increasingly dominated by mountains, plantations and traditional villages.

The Central Highlands is home to many ethnic minority communities, each with its own traditions, architecture and cultural identity. Depending on the route and local conditions, we may visit villages associated with communities such as the K’ho, Churu and M’nong people.

You can see traditional houses, agricultural activities and local handicrafts while learning from your guide about the history and customs of the communities living in this part of Vietnam.

One of the cultural experiences along the way is a visit to local textile or weaving families. Traditional weaving techniques remain an important part of cultural life in several Central Highlands communities, with distinctive patterns and natural materials reflecting local traditions.

As we continue north, the air becomes cooler and the landscape more mountainous. Pine forests, plantations and open valleys create a striking contrast with the tropical countryside around Saigon.

The journey eventually brings us to Lak Lake, one of the Central Highlands’ most peaceful natural destinations.

Surrounded by mountains, rice fields and traditional villages, Lak Lake is closely connected with the culture of the M’nong people. The lake and surrounding countryside offer a glimpse of a slower rural way of life, where farming and traditional customs remain an important part of everyday life.

Depending on local conditions, you may take a traditional boat or canoe ride on the lake, walk along the lakeside or simply enjoy the peaceful scenery.

We spend the night in a traditional-style M’nong longhouse in Jun Village.

Staying in a local longhouse provides a more personal experience than a conventional hotel. In the evening, enjoy local food and, when available, traditional music or cultural performances.

After a full day riding through the Central Highlands, this is an ideal place to relax and experience the atmosphere of rural Vietnam.

Overnight: Jun Village, Lak Lake
Distance: Approximately 160 km
Riding time: Around 4–6 hours, including stops and cultural experiences

Day 3: Lak Lake – Dray Sap – Dray Nur – Buon Ma Thuot | Approx. 100 km

Our final day begins around Lak Lake, with time to enjoy the peaceful surroundings before setting off toward Buon Ma Thuot, the capital of Dak Lak Province and the heart of Vietnam’s Central Highlands coffee industry.

The morning ride takes us through more ethnic minority villages and extensive coffee plantations.

Dak Lak is one of Vietnam’s most important coffee-producing regions, and coffee has become an essential part of the identity and economy of the Central Highlands. Along the route, you can see coffee trees covering the hills and farmland around local communities.

We stop at a local coffee farm to learn about how coffee is grown, harvested and processed. Depending on the season, you may see different stages of production and learn why the Central Highlands provides ideal conditions for growing Robusta coffee.

Of course, no visit to Vietnam’s coffee heartland would be complete without enjoying a strong cup of freshly prepared local coffee.

From the coffee farms, we continue toward two of the region’s best-known natural attractions: Dray Sap and Dray Nur waterfalls.

Located along the Serepok River, these spectacular waterfalls cut through the basalt landscape of the Central Highlands. Surrounded by forest and rocky cliffs, they provide a dramatic setting for photography and a refreshing break from the road.

The waterfalls are also closely connected with local legends and the cultural traditions of communities living around the Serepok River. Your guide will share the stories and local perspectives associated with this remarkable landscape.

After exploring the waterfalls, we continue toward Buon Ma Thuot.

The city is widely regarded as the coffee capital of Vietnam and is an important commercial and cultural centre of Dak Lak Province. It also provides an interesting opportunity to learn more about the history and ethnic diversity of the Central Highlands.

If time and the itinerary allow, we can visit a local ethnographic or cultural museum to gain a deeper understanding of the communities that have shaped the region. The Central Highlands is home to numerous ethnic groups, each with its own languages, traditions, architecture and cultural heritage.

The region has also played an important role in Vietnam’s history, including during the French colonial period and the Vietnam War. Your guide can provide historical context as we travel through landscapes that were once strategically important during periods of conflict.

We arrive in Buon Ma Thuot in the afternoon, marking the end of your three-day journey from Saigon into the Central Highlands.

Buon Ma Thuot is a convenient place to continue your Vietnam travels, with connections to other major destinations by domestic flight or road.

Distance: Approximately 100 km
Riding time: Around 3–4 hours, including stops and sightseeing
End: Buon Ma Thuot
