3 Day Saigon Mui Ne Easy Ride – VIETNAMRIDER
Tour Itinerary
Day 1 – Saigon to Binh Phuoc
Distance: Approximately 130 km
Riding Time: 4–5 hours
Overnight: Binh Phuoc
The journey begins in Ho Chi Minh City in the morning. After leaving the busy streets of Saigon, we ride north-west towards the Cu Chi area.
Our first major stop is the Cu Chi Tunnels, an extensive underground network used during the Vietnam War. You will have time to explore the tunnels and learn about their construction, wartime use and importance in the history of southern Vietnam.
After visiting Cu Chi, we leave the main tourist routes and continue along quieter backroads through the countryside. The scenery quickly changes from urban development to farmland, plantations and small villages.
The route passes through parts of Binh Duong and Dong Nai before continuing towards Binh Phuoc. Along the way, you will see extensive rubber plantations, cashew trees, red basalt soil and agricultural land. The roads provide a more relaxed riding experience and plenty of opportunities to observe everyday rural life.
As we continue north, the countryside becomes increasingly remote. Your guide will introduce the history and geography of the region, including the importance of remote areas and transport routes during the Vietnam War.
By late afternoon, we arrive in Binh Phuoc Province. After checking into the accommodation, you can relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the countryside.
Overnight in Binh Phuoc.
Day 2 – Binh Phuoc to Bao Loc
Distance: Approximately 150 km
Riding Time: 5–6 hours
Overnight: Bao Loc
After breakfast, we continue from Binh Phuoc towards Bao Loc in Lam Dong Province. Today’s route gradually climbs from the southern lowlands into the Central Highlands.
The landscape changes noticeably as we gain elevation. Large agricultural areas appear along the road, with coffee, pepper, fruit trees and other crops growing across the hills. This region is one of Vietnam’s important agricultural areas, and the journey provides an opportunity to see how farming shapes everyday life in the highlands.
We continue through small villages and rural communities, where houses, farms and local markets provide glimpses of life away from Vietnam’s major cities. Depending on the route and local conditions, there may be opportunities to stop for photographs, refreshments or short walks.
As the altitude increases, the air becomes cooler and the scenery becomes greener. Forested hills, valleys and winding roads gradually replace the flatter countryside of Binh Phuoc.
The route passes through areas close to Cat Tien National Park. Although the tour does not enter the park, the surrounding landscape gives you an impression of the importance of the region’s forests and wildlife. Your guide can also explain the natural environment and conservation work associated with this part of southern Vietnam.
Continuing into Lam Dong Province, we reach Bao Loc, a highland town surrounded by tea plantations, coffee farms and green hills. The cooler climate makes Bao Loc a pleasant place to finish the day’s ride.
After checking into the hotel, there is time to relax and explore the town or enjoy a cup of locally produced tea or coffee.
Overnight in Bao Loc.
Day 3 – Bao Loc to Mui Ne
Distance: Approximately 130 km
Riding Time: 4–5 hours
The final day begins with a scenic ride through the mountains surrounding Bao Loc. The road winds through hills and valleys, providing some of the most enjoyable riding of the trip.
As we leave the highlands, the route gradually descends towards the coast. The scenery changes continuously as forests and green mountain landscapes give way to open hills, dry countryside and warmer lowland areas.
This section of the journey demonstrates the remarkable variation in southern Vietnam’s geography. In the morning, you are riding through the cooler highlands; several hours later, the landscape is noticeably warmer and drier.
The road continues through rural areas towards the coast, passing farms, small communities and open countryside. Along the way, there are opportunities to stop and take photographs, stretch your legs and enjoy the changing scenery.
As we approach Mui Ne, the landscape becomes increasingly dry and sandy. The green highlands have been replaced by coastal plains and distinctive sand-covered terrain.
We eventually reach Mui Ne, where the atmosphere changes again. Palm trees, beaches, fishing communities and the sea create a completely different environment from the mountains of Bao Loc.
Depending on your arrival time and onward plans, you can visit the famous Mui Ne sand dunes or continue to your hotel in the coastal area.
The tour finishes in Mui Ne after three days of riding through the countryside, highlands and coast of southern Vietnam.
